He's part fish

Henry loves bath time. He had a few months there where he was totally against it but now he's back on board. He really just loves water in all forms and temperatures. We have enrolled him in swimming classes starting this fall and running until December. This way he will be a pro by January when we head to St. Maarten for our 5 year anniversary. Yesterday he performed a dramatic rescue during bath time but I need to take pictures of the characters before I can tell it to really do it justice. Anyway, here are some pics from bath time at grandma and grandpa's last weekend (cropped to protect henry's privacy because hey this is the internet after all)

Hanging out with Nemo

Cute things Henry is saying

"Scary parts comin'" while watching Finding Nemo just before the scene with the fish with huge teeth and a light attached to it's head.

"Mama, where aaaare you?" when he wakes up in the morning and wants out of his crib.

A recent coversation:
Marci "Henry, where are you going?" (he was driving his little tikes car)
Henry "the store"
Marci "what are you going to buy?"
Henry "noise" (meaning kefir which is what he calls anything remotely like a smoothie, we had just finished a heated conversation about how we were out of noise so apparently he decided to take matters into his own hands)

Yesterday at daycare they were working on flash cards and Henry was getting many of them correct. Whenever they got to one he didn't know Monica would tell him the answer. His response? "Of course!!!"

His favorite thing to say to lucy is "knock it off lucy!"

Children's Museum

First we headed to the rooftop play area:

Then we headed inside where Henry taught another little boy how to fish. First he explains that you need to sit on the stool to properly reach the pole:

Then he steps back and waits for the kid to understand:

Then it was time for some face painting. He wanted to be a lion, ROAR!!!

On our way back to the car he spotted this Wall E poster at a bus stop. He ran over to it screaming "Watch Wall E movie!!!" Sorry kid but we're not seeing in twice in the theater so you'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

Cute as ever on the ride home:

Fruit rolls

Henry has always loved Fruitabu fruit rolls but has always wanted us to unroll them and hand him little pieces of it. Now he has figured out how to unroll it and eats the whole thing in one bite! Here are a few pics of him enjoying 2 rolls in a matter of minutes.

A budding artist

I forgot to share this one. This work by Henry was created a few weeks ago and was his first work done on a new medium.

Up your nose...

with a rubber bead?? Since Henry has reached the important childhood milestone of sticking things up his nose I decided it was time to begin recording this.

Item #1: yellow bead
Date placed in nose: unknown
Date removed from nose: June 14, 2008

Item #2: yellow corn kernel (anyone noticing a theme?)
Date placed in nose: On or before July 16, 2008
Date removed from nose: July 17, 2008

Item #3: ANOTHER yellow corn kernel
Date placed in nose: On or before July 16, 2008
Date removed from nose: July 20, 2008

Stay tuned. I'll update this post as needed.

Minnehaha Falls

We took Henry for a hike at Minnehaha Falls and were a little worried as to how he would react to being in the backpack again after taking nearly a year break from it but he did great! His first thought when he saw the falls from above was something along the lines of "ride it?" No, we're just here to look at it.

Henry loved when he needed to duck under trees and branches and started yelling "duck!" at totally random times, it was super cute:

He found a stick and decided to play Poohsticks on the bridge. Looking for his stick:

Found it!

Happy Birthday Anna & Charlie!!

Anna & Charlie turned two and Henry was there to celebrate with them. It was a pretty hot day and Henry fell and hurt his nose and mouth (again!) but we still had a wonderful time. Here are a few pics:
